Look What you Made me Do Artists drawing printed onto Poly Cotton, free motion sewn frames on picture canvas 45 x 20 cm FOR SALE: £50 (Email: nastywomenuk@hotmail.com) Every man I have ever lived with has hit me (excepting my current partner, who I married) When they did I always felt I deserved it in some way; if only I had been....? For them, it was the ultimate way to win any argument. The cuddles and apologies which always followed never made up for it, but persuaded me that there was hope for change, which unfortunately never came. All I was really left with was a growing sense of separation and hollowness. a drama that halted my growth. This drama is recreated here in a Victorian style family portrait triptych. This theatrical, aged setting warns us of an unwanted return to Victorian values and reminds us that this drama is real life for millions of women every day. I stand beside my sisters every day and do what I can to support them wherever and whenever I find them. I dedicate this picture to my friend Debz, in the hope that she manages to rid herself of all the self-hatred she currently holds and replaces it, finally with some peace. www.instagram.com/libbertinevale/
