A piece is from the 'Invasion of Space' project which is split into three areas, visual film documentation, abstract pre-collection of drawings and the final sculptural works. The sculptures are three-dimensional, textural and experimental melted recycled plastic bags. Focusing on fragmented lines, blurring and trailing, continuation of pattern, repetition, multiples, spontaneity vs. synchronisation. The foundation of each sculptural structure represents the congregation of people seen in the drawing collection. The three-dimensional layered, overlapping line (coming from the base), symbolising the dispersal of people. I am very interested in using alternative materials and techniques in my work and try to find ways to balance my works impact on the environment.
All structures are made from consciously reused/recycled plastic carrier bags sourced through waste and donation. Reducing waste and reusing materials is a huge part of my practice.
