Charlie Genever
An Ode To Your Every Body Hair, 2017 Cut-up poetry taken from women's magazines A4 FOR SALE: £30 (Email: nastywomenuk@hotmail.com) Charley Genever is a British poet best known as Peterborough Poet Laureate. Her work, including her debut collection Unsexed (BX3), viscerally explores her experiences female vulnerability and celebration curated from personal experiences of intimacy, uncertainty and fluidity. This piece was created using the cut-up method; the act of taking text and plucking it raw like forbidden hair, leaving a satisfying numbness on the top lip. Genever satirises and highlights the discourse around a woman's body hair, using the source material of women's beauty and fashion magazines which condition us to feel shame for the way we grow. @charleyfarleyha
